(Developed graphical user interface in MATLAB for decision-making study in annuity, utilized Tobii eye tracker to collect data from participants and troubleshoot hardware problems and provide training to new experimenters.)

(Developed indirect training algorithm for spiking neural network, contributed to the development of a neural circuit simulator using C++, and prepared manuscript for funding application and paper draft, and simulated neural network activities.)

2011 - Mechanical Senior Design: Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shanghai, China                                                                   

(Designed tracking system using Micron Tracker for laparoscopic surgery.)

 

2012 - DNA Sequence Project: Biomedical Engineering, Duke University                                                                               

(Developed Perl scripts to access DNA database, extract DNA sequences and compare genetic similarity between different species.)

 

2012 - Finite Element Analysis of Total Hip Replacement: Biomedical Engineering, Duke University                                

(Created a diseased femur with a total hip arthroplasty in SolidWorks and conducted stress/strain analyses on femur using ANSYS and compared different implant materials.)

 

2012 - Simulation of Glucose and Insulin Dynamics Project: Biomedical Engineering, Duke University                               

(Generated a MATLAB program to simulate the metabolism of glucose and insulin for normal people, type I and type II diabetics and created a user interface for the quantitative physiology course.)

 

2013 - Image Denoising with Multiresolution Bilateral Filter Project: Biomedical Engineering, Duke University                        

(Applied Stein’s unbiased risk estimator and brutal force algorithm in the optimization problem of bilateral filter parameters and designed a denoising framework with the combination of bilateral filter and wavelet thresholding.)
